Delete your CalmLingo account and data
This page explains how to request deletion of your CalmLingo account and the personal data stored with that account. CalmLingo is the language-learning app published on Google Play and the App Store under the name CalmLingo.
Option A — Delete in the app (fastest)
If you can open the app while signed in, use the in-app account deletion flow:
- Open the CalmLingo app on your device.
- Sign in with the same account you want removed (email, Google, or Apple).
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account and follow the prompts to confirm.
When deletion completes, you will be signed out. This action is intended to be permanent for that account’s app data on our systems as described below.
Option B — Email request (if you cannot use the app)
If you cannot access the app, send an email from the same email address registered on your CalmLingo account (for Google/Apple sign-in, use the address shown in your Apple ID / Google account that you used with CalmLingo):
- To: support@calmlingo.app
- Subject line: CalmLingo account deletion request
- Body: include the email you used with CalmLingo (if different from the From address), approximate sign-up date, and any other details that help us verify you. We may reply to confirm identity before deleting.
What we delete
When your account is deleted through the in-app flow (or after we process and verify a support request), we
remove your Firebase Authentication user and, under your user ID in our database, perform a
recursive deletion of your Firestore document at users/<your uid> and
all nested data stored beneath it. That typically includes, for example:
- Profile and preferences (name, email on file, learning language, level, schedule-related fields, etc.)
- Saved words and related learning data stored under your user
- Favorites and listening history we store per account
- Calendar / recommendation documents tied to your account
- Push notification tokens and related per-user notification metadata we store
- Other app-generated user records kept under
users/<your uid>
Shared catalog content (lessons, stories, dialogues, etc.) is not “your account data”; it remains available to other users and is not deleted when you delete your account.
What may be kept for a period
- Cloud backups and logs: Our infrastructure providers (for example Google Cloud / Firebase) may retain encrypted backups or security and operations logs for a limited time as described in their policies. Those are not used to restore your deleted learning profile to the live app.
- Legal and fraud prevention: We may preserve certain information where required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Support email thread: If you email us, we may retain that correspondence in line with our normal support retention.
After deletion
You may install CalmLingo again later; that will be a new account if you register or sign in fresh. Guest-only data that never left your device is controlled by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app on your phone.
